Ravenwood Farm is owned and operated by Dale and Chris Dunn. The Dunn's raise Thoroughbred's and recently added a beautiful National Show Horse to their barn. Chris who has been a hunter jumper trainer and Thoroughbred breeder for more than 30 years, retired with her husband, Dale to their present farm in Keystone Heights in 2003 to focus on their breeding program. Dale is very active in the local horse community, serving as the Northeast Florida Dressage Association VP and Membership coordinator for the past couple of years. He also shows his horse, Moximillion, a 17 hand TB in Dressage.
During Hurricane Katrina the Dunn's became an intricate part of the horse rescue efforts in Louisiana and have continued a very active and important part in Disaster Preparedness in Northeast Florida. In December 2005 they founded the North Florida Horse Rescue with a mission to promote and secure the safety and well being of all horses before, during and after a disaster and to educate the public about responsible horse ownership and to increase public awareness of the necessity to microchip for identification.
The Dunn's now spend all their time assisting in the rescue efforts of horses as well as Minature Pinschers! They hold educational forums on disaster preparedness and Chris serves as Unit Commander for the Clay County Mounted CERT Team as well as on a local, state and national disaster response team. She is also the Treasurer for Habitat for Horses, Inc. the largest equine protection organization in the United States.
